About the National Basketry Organization, Inc.,

The National Basketry Organization, Inc., currently relies on volunteers to do the work of various task teams. Those teams, and the people who lead them are as follows:

Finance: Responsible for fundraising via grants, personal solicitations, special events (auctions, sales, fund raising parties, etc). Michael Davis - chairperson.

Membership/Liaison: Responsible for generating and maintaining memberships across the nation. Will also determine membership levels, benefits associated with basic memberships, any additional benefits associated with higher-level memberships, terms of memberships (time, conditions, standing, etc). This team interfaces with state and local guilds, other basketry related organizations, as well as with indigenous people. It is recommended that this team work closely with the Education Committee to develop a system of regional representatives to attend state and local conferences to represent NBO.

Communication/Publication: Helps all teams maintain continuity of appearance in their public relations efforts. This team has core responsibility for the organization’s public relations efforts, including the web site, press releases, and email responses. It designs and publishes an email newsletter and a quarterly magazine following input and direction from the board (i.e. editorial policies). May also have responsibility for books and catalogs developed by NBO.
